Steps to upgrade from Windows 7/8.1 to Windows 10: Open Control Panel > System plus Security > Windows Update.
Open Windows Explorer > (C:) Windows > > SoftwareDistribution > Download.
Make a backup copy of several of these files, drag one to the other and delete everything in them.
Now open Command Prompt again in Administrator mode.
