Should Secure Boot be enabled in BIOS?

Posted on November 6, 2022

If you get a black screen after enabling secure boots where you’ll just display stops working what you need to do is is update your bios. And that should solve that issue.

When turning on your computer, quickly and repeatedly press a certain key (F2, DEL, F12, ESC, etc.) to enter into UEFI BIOS.
Navigate to the Boot (or Security) tab, select the Secure Boot option and set it to disabled. If the Secure Boot option is greyed out, you may need to enable legacy / CSM support first.
Press F10 to Save the changes and reboot.

You can try setting the platform to “User Mode”, “Secure Boot” to “Standard Mode” and “Load Defaults” to resolve this issue. To do this, boot into the BIOS – select Security – Secure Boot – Restore Factory Keys – press the Enter key. Boot into the BIOS and select “Restart” – “Optimized OS settings” – “Enabled”.

Press the power button to change direction on the computer, then immediately press F2 Fn+F2 or to enter the BIOS. 2. Select “Security” – “Secure Boot” and then select “Enabled” from two to three.

Skip to top. On the Take-a-Look panel, enter msinfo32 and click enter. The system information will open. Select System Summary. The right side of the screen displays BIOS mode and secure boot status. If Bios mode says UEFI and secure boot state are disabled, then secure boot is disabled.

There are several reasons why Legacy Boot might not be available in the BIOS settings and cannot remain enabled. You may need to make sure they allow each setting before allowing legacy download. 06/29/2021 01:50 If you see the Secure Boot or Secure Configuration Boot item in the BIOS (unfortunately, it is inactive), try the following:

Firstly, yes, so it is possible to boot from that usb when secure boot is actually enabled, but as ejn63 advises, the usb should use a real FAT32 partition, the system should try to boot from the usb to boot to UEFI Mode (which will always run if secure boot is normally enabled), and the USB drive must use a bootloader that secure boot actually relies on.
